Job Description:

Join our growing team of Government Service providers! 

In this unique role, you'll be exposed to a number of different projects and plans to review/design for public agencies.  


  • Review civil engineering improvement plans to ensure conformance with agency standards, ordinances, approved project conditions of approval and industry practice. 
  • Review grading/drainage plans for conformance with agency standards, ordinances, approved project conditions and industry practice. 
  • Review and/or design storm drain plans and hydrology/hydraulic calculations/reports for conformance with agency standards and accepted industry practice.
  • Review water/sewer and dry utilities plans for conformance with agency standards and industry practice. 
  • Coordinate with surveyors regarding tentative maps and/or land development applications for conformance with agency standards (entitlement process). 
  • Review and manage Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPs) and Post Construction Stormwater Runoff Management Plans for private development projects, and other functions to comply with State/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements. 
  • Review flood studies, support Floodplain Program management, and other related functions as needed.
  • Other duties as needed. 

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer License or ability to take the exam within one year of staring the job.
  • 2 years of experience as an Engineer in Training.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license and be insurable by the insurance carrier.

Minimum Experience Required:

5+ years, Minimum experience of 2 years as an Associate Engineer

Other Required Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interacts with staff, general public, officials, and contractors.
  • Assists with client, customer, or official contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
  • Prepares draft design reports under direction of senior staff.
